Kathryne Karibo
I learned how to sew at a very young age from my grandmother. Sewing or quilting brings such comfort and joy to me and after raising five children I feel the need now to share that with others. I started my long-arm quilting business out of my home in 2001. I did and continue to do custom quilts for clients and quilt many quilters quilts for them. I now work with interior designers to meet their quilting needs. In January of 2008 I moved my business into the studio on East Street in Downtown Rochester so I would have a place for women to gather and to learn the art of quilting. I am a certified teacher of Cotton Theory Quilting, and will be teaching a variety of classes including beginner Cotton Theory, tote bags, placemats and table runners and binding classes.
I have been blessed to have had Susan Sarauer working with me from the very beginning. When you visit the studio and meet Susan you will know why I say that. Come in and take a class from our wonderful instructors or just sit and stitch with us.
Ruth McCormick, Quilt Artist
Ruth creates quilts, wearable art and home décor projects. Her specialties include longarm machine quilting, paper piecing, t-shirt memorabilia quilts, and blocks of the month projects. Ruth’s involvement with the Oakland County Quilt Guild has provided the opportunity to enter her quilts in judged shows, and she enjoys a good “challenge”, causing her to create several award winning quilts in recent years.
